A DAY AT THE PAN

Started off with a Heron looking for a late snack

Waiting...

Then the Zebra drop by. Mom is definitely expecting again.

She would push this youngster away and walk off.

He seemed quite confused by it.

But I guess Mom is trying to get him ready for when she has the next one. I read that they wean at 11 months and that foals can be born anytime but most in Aug/Sept.

I hope that doesn't spell trouble for this little one.

Mean while the Heron is still waiting...

and then makes a move.

Nothing but a stick.

Guess it's off to another watering hole to see if the pickin's are better.

This Buff kept to the bush

But the Boonies didn't !

Now that's quite a stretch !

There are 4 little ones here. They surely don't stay still long enough to get a good picture.

Here one tries to 'get away' by hiding out on top !

And while the boonies moved off to play, a Jackal came by. Laid here for a bit, all curled up.

Sat up once to check out the boonies.

Then decided that the Pan was a bit too busy and headed out.
