3/24 DRIVE SITES

What I found interesting about this shot it how much the branch/log and pile of dirt looks like a very large Nyala laying there.

OK you know I can't resist a shot like this LOL

Helmet Shrike

Squirrels doing a bit of mutual grooming

Very full Monitor, resting up

Wartie

The guys at work

Best I could do at a yawn shot

This branch was across the road, Pieter stopped so we could look at it. Then proceeded to drive over it (wonder if driving over stuff like this has anything to do with the tank being temperamental LOL)

Mountains in the distance

Genet. ~Wasn't easy to see and this was the best shot I got. Pieter was very excited.

SHORT TRIP WITH KATIE GIRL

The Woodland Zoo bear cam is back up and running! It has several different views and is "streaming"

I think they are Denali, but it's been a long time and I'm not sure.

AND The Antarctica Penguin cam is back. At least four of them. The best one for viewing the penguins is the first one.

But if you ever think it's cold where you are, check out the other cams. LOL

Lazing about.

Also, the Meerkat cam at the Colorado Zoo is back up and running. The meerkats are wonderful as usual.

Good Morning !!

The giraffes have THREE small ones and they are adorable.

Snow has fallen in Ely, MN and that's the prettiest time for pictures.

Still there

Green backed Heron with dinner

Fun in the mud

Genet in tree

Wonderful rain

Harder still

Perfect evening

My, My, My You've been very busy Katie Girl. Thanks for all the info.
.
Link to Penguin cam is under 'WORLD WIDE WEB CAMS' and Woodlands is on 'ZOO WEB CAMS' (I've changed that link so it now goes directly to the bear cam page. I had trouble finding it from that main site) Think that's it for this post folks
.
Until later HAPPY VIEWING !!

Hello!

Have some shots from Pete's Pond that I'd like to pass along to you! Some of a blackback jackal,

Pointer pose

one of the genet from the other night,

group shot of the ostriches, (reminds me of those dancing girls The Follies I think. Can't remember)

a sunset,

and some of an eland that appears to have a damaged horn - can't really tell from the pics. (can see in this one that the horn closest looks like the tip is broke off)

(If I remember right there was an Eland last year that had one horn that grew sideways)

I'm hard at it, editing some ellie shots from Pete's Pond that I've managed to accumulate over the days. I had a happy trigger finger when it came to capturing some shots. There was so much going on, that I didn't want to miss a good shot, s-o-o-o-o, I just kept shooting! Now I'm payin' the price! LOL You know as well as I that it's all worth it! (sure do)

Quick word - Mom and the fawns are doing fine! I think they're coming in at night or very early in the morning any more. They do make an appearance every now and then at around 6 P.M. to get a quick snack, thank goodness!
The kids are getting closer to Mom's size now, so it's getting hard to distinguish them! Another thing is growing - their appetite! That's O.K. - the restaurant is staying open!

Gotta run - time to edit some more ellies! LOL

Take care.

.
Thanks DaveKay for all your hard work. I know what you mean about not wanting to miss a good snap. It's like you want to record the entire time on video and go back later and take out all the parts with no activity. Now that would be a really good vid !
