Isn't he beautiful ?
All be himself too.

Carefully taking a drink and then ...

heads back into the bush.

Djuma getting small again

Back on the landie, Wildebeest

Hello there (Said this was a Blue Beestie, I guess there are Plains Beesties too)

Dwarf Mongoose and Buff

Ah that's better.

Everyone warming up in the sun, preparing for the day

Looks a bit uncomfortable

Went on alert. Could it be something exciting ? Nope just some Impalas, comment here was "Just male Impala being male Impala"

Down to the Hyena Den, Mom and 2 cubs are resting.

Smile

They said that these two are either a female and male or 2 males. I learned that if the first born is female and the second born is also female, the oldest will kill it. That is due to the fact the females rule the roost and a female sib would be a threat to the first borns position in the pack.

Time for a morning snack. They suckle for up to 16 months.

After lots more driving and scenery There's a small herd of Impala heading into the bush for shade.

Was very warm already. Sounds so strange to hear them talking about Summer coming in Oct.

Young Female due to half first lamb (that's what Pieter called it, never knew that). Young ones should start popping up within the next week, but with the early heavy rains this year don't be surprised to see them sooner.
Did lots more driving and came to this spot. A fav of Pieter's and I can see why. Worked some editing magic and slapped this together..
