BAKERSFIELD OWLS

Good Morning!

Another week-end is upon us already! This one is special - it's the first official Spring week-end! (Sent in Friday) That has a nice ring to it! Now, all we can hope for is that all the people who are being hit so hard with all the flooding can get some much needed relief in order to get things back to as close to normal as possible. We have been truly blessed with a relatively mild winter this past season - I think our total snowfall was under a foot! (I know I wish my Winter was that mild LOL)
Our Bakersfield owl is back, and she's packin' a brood of at least two chicks! That's all I can count at one time - there may be more. I'm sending along some shots.
After scanning most of the falcon cams, it looks to me like it's going to be a bumper crop this year! Either Rocket or Camira has hit the Harrisburg nest - no eggs yet. Indy has two eggs for sure, with Kenny and KathyQ in attendance. Cobb Island on the Chesapeake Bay has three eggs, and the James River nest near Richmond, VA has two, I believe. No word on George and Gracie in SF yet, and Rochester, NY shows a nesting taking place. Like I said, it's gonna be a busy time! I LOVE it!

Will talk to ya later!

BTW -- HAPPY EASTER!!! ~ DaveKay
