9/23/08 DRIVE ~ PM

Well the first hour or so of it anyway. Sadly I had to leave but got to see ...
this cute little guy. Was as curious about the landie as we were about him.

Look at all the colors on this Lilac breasted Roller ! Like a flying Rainbow.

This Wartie, according to Pieter, was looking very healthy.

Much like it would during their Summer rather then the end of Winter.

Spotted a couple of Francolin out and about too.

The orange eye of this Cape Starling make it easy to ID

The Impala were hanging out

along with some very relaxed White Rhino,

I thought this one made a good photo-op. I like the way the Sun was hitting it.

Here is a shot of why it's called the 'wide mouth' Rhino. Pieter said that they don't have teeth really up front so they need those wide mouths for grazing.

There were 4 in this group all told.

So glad the White Rhino is making such a good come back. Let's hope the Black Rhino does as well.

Then is was back to Gowrie while are daring duo stretched their legs. There was a Buff laying down but I'm not sure if it was the one from earlier or not.

When I reluctantly left, these 2 were just standing around. Pieter said it was hot there today, so I imagine they were waiting for things to cool off.

HAPPY VIEWING !!
