DJUMA PICTURES

Good Afternoon!

I was in the process of getting some Djuma Drive shots together for you, and I happened to go over to the Drive, which was well into the night portion, and caught some amazing shots of a rather large lion feeding on a fresh buffalo kill. Pieter was impressed with the lion's size, and the close-ups that he got of the feeding lion would probably represent what you would see if you were unfortunate enough to be on the predator's menu! See for yourself!

The other shots are of Safari, who is mother to Karula, the mother of Saseka and Tingana. Three generations of beautiful cattery! Safari is now about 13 years old, advanced for life in the bush, but she is in fine health, and gets around just as well as her younger progeny. Her right eye, or what remains of it, is the result of a fight with a male some years ago - she was possibly defending her cub, Karula, at the time.

Anyway, she's a grand lady, and it's always a treat to see her out and about.

Hope you enjoy these!

More later! ~ DaveKay
